1. Not a blocker, sorry, and please think very carefully before making everything a blocker as it means that critical bugs that effect every user will not get fixed. I understand that accessibility is very important, but so are complete crashes and dataloss for all users.

If you absolutely must have this fixed in the 2.5 release, you might talk to your local Sakai deployment team who will have more resource to help you.

2. Please do the research and tell me why a textarea doesn't work with JAWS.

If you would like to find an alternative Wiki that works with Jaws, please be my guest.

I am sorry not be be more helpful, but I don't have a JAWS 8.0 license and IE6 so there is no way I can find a solution for you.

I have tested it with the free Firefox Screen reader and it works just fine.

If you do find out what the problem is and can provide a patch. I will gladly apply it, provided it doesnt completly break functionality for others.

Thanks, and sorry.

I'm sorry, but Ian I do not like your attitude. The issues I posted the last couple days were done by a co-worker of mine who cannot enter them into Jira because Jira is not completely accessible. Also I cannot fix any of these errors because I am not well versed in sakai's programming. My job is to test accessibility for Indiana University who uses sakai for its oncourse system. I am trying to help the people who work through these issues as much as possible. Finally, it is a blocker for someone using JAWS that has a visual impairment. If they are required as part of a class to post to the wiki for a grade and they cannot. I understand they may be bigger issues. We cannot force users to user the firefox screen reader or even firefox. I also understand not all issues will get fixed. If you have issues with what we are doing bring them up with Mike Elledge who is in charge of the Accessibility work group.

Joe - we don't have any experience here with JAWS, so we don't know what the problem might be. Has the accessibility team looked at this to find out what's causing the problem since your colleague raised the issue? For example, did Mike Elledge have any suggestions as to what the problem might be, or definitely isn't?
