The RSF web programming framework
Session 222
Wednesday
10:00 am-11:00 am
SalonF
Session Abstract
RSF is a web programming framework that we have been developing at
CARET, Cambridge, with the interests of developers aimed at academic
provision particularly in mind. These sorts of developers tend to
have rather diverse, fussy clients, perpetual reskinning
requirements, very long-lived projects and strapped resources.
This session will present the RSF architecture, including contrasts
to other popular web frameworks such as JSF, Spring Web Flow, RIFE
and Tapestry, and demonstrate how a standalone tool may be easily
reskinned to comply with the Sakai Style Guide by simple addition
of XHTML files.
Documentation for RSF is available on the RSF wiki at http://www2.caret.cam.ac.uk/rsfwiki/.
RSF is currently in a "technology preview" mode where use cases and
requirements are being collected from clients and developers.
There will be a further BOF purely for discussion on RSF on Friday
1.30pm in room 402.
