A combination of such desktop authoring tools, Resources, and Web Content gives some flexibility in authoring a Sakai site and organizing content, but would benefit from additional functionality and capabilities in Sakai. These authoring environments can work directly with Sakai's Resource area, when WebDAV can be made to work. You were able to work off-line and synchronize content with early versions of FrontPage and Sakai, and when WebDAV worked. You can embed URLs to Sakai items in your content by cutting-and-pasting (for items that are currently URL accessible, but it would be nice to be able to "browse entities" for such purposes.)
