Disabling the Ability for New Users to Sign Up

To prevent new users from creating their own accounts:

  1. Log into Sakai as a superadmin
  2. Open the "Administration Workspace" site
  3. Edit the !gateway site using the 'Sites' tool.
  4. Click on the Pages button
  5. Edit New Account page by clicking on the page id next to the page title in the list.
  6. Click "Remove Page".

You may also want to remove the right for new users to register accounts, especialy if you are implementing webservices (or similar). This is done by editing the !user.template realm and removing the user.add permission from the .anon role.
