It is a goal of Sakai to deliver a consistent user experience despite having been designed by multiple instituitions. The Sakai Style Guide provides examples and guidelines on how to design common page views (e.g. forms, lists, wizards) and how to use standard Sakai GUI Elements. Eventually, these elements will also provide enhanced support for Accessibility.

Sakai Style Sheets allow a designer to modify color and typography of tools and containers. Using these files, the look of Sakai can be integrated into an overall portal look, be compatible with university color schemes, or be deliberate made different in order to draw attention to this particular tool function.
