An online course can host pages of tangential materials that you might not have time to cover in class-- written, audio, and visual-- and also makes a convenient place to put links to interesting websites that expand upon the subjects of the course.

Pedagogy: Cite authoritative websites, of course; organize them into groups or folders and provide annotations. Limit the sizes of media and image files, especially if they are used for required work. Ask students for suggestions and assessments gleaned from their own web surfing.
Platform:
- Provide repositories, possibly separate servers, for large files and for streaming media.
- Allow instructors to authorize students to upload and manage of files and links.
