Description:
The Sakai BasicLTI portlet implements the IMS Basic Learning Tools Interoperability draft specification. BasicLTI operates as an external tool/content proxy, providing contextual information and a launch endpoint for tools/content external to Sakai. It uses standard protocols including the OAuth (www.oauth.net) security mechanism. BasicLTI also permits a "federated single-sign-on" using in-browser REST-style launching and allows an externally-hosted tool to support a variety of LMSs with a single instance of the external tool or resource.
